My new camera

I got a new camera for Christmas.

Just like any new electronic gadget nowadays, it has bewilderingly many options. I still don't know what I am doing, but here are some practice shots.

My zoanthid garden on a frag tray:

Here's a couple of yellow tail damsels. I added five of them a few weeks ago. They are doing very well. I see them quarreling among themselves here and there, but they are getting along with the rest of the community.

I acquired a few new frags of zoanthids at Chattanooga Regional Frag Swap on August 11th. They took a few days to open up. They are still not colored up fully yet, but they are slowly getting better.

The green one is a variety called Nuclear Green. It is supposedly very sturdy and a fast grower. I also got hold of a frag each of PPE, Purple Death and Purple Hearted Emerald.

I just added a new goby to my pico tank. It was sold to me as a nano goby. I believe that it is Eviota spp a.k.a. Pygmy goby. It's only about 2 cm. Its maximum size is supposed to be 2 to 3 cm. I added some copepods to the pico tank for the goby. I will offer some Cyclop-eeze tomorrow.

I started adding a small amount of vodka to my 120 gallon tank again on Sunday, July 15th. I am adding 0.4 ml every day. I intend to increase the dose very slowly until my SPS's brighten up a bit. I will monitor my cardinals very carefully since they started disappearing slowly as the dosage increased last summer when I tried vodka experiment for the first time.

The pico tank inhabitants

Here's my cute little sexy shrimp (Thor amboinensis.) It's the only livestock besides a few soft corals in this tank. I am considering a small goby such as a Panda goby (Paragobius lacunicolus) or a Trimma goby (Trimma sp.) for its tank mate.

My new pico tank

This is my brand new pico tank. It's a one gallon tank with a 13W compact fluorescent lamp. It came with its own small 9W light fixture and HOB fiter, but I replaced the light fixture with a Galaxy Light for more light.
